Barry O’Beirne was educated at Presentation College Bray and Castleknock College, Co. Dublin. He began his career at the Insurance Corporation of Ireland, advancing to Claims Superintendent, where he handled significant employer’s liability, public liability, and motor claims. In the late 1980s, encouraged by his mentor, he pursued a diploma in Legal Studies and joined his father’s law practice, Cullen & O’Beirne.

After qualifying as a solicitor, Barry became actively involved in the Incorporated Law Society, contributing to educational initiatives. He expanded the litigation side of the practice, representing various insurance companies, including his former employer. In the late 1990s, he became a partner and later the principal of the firm after his father’s passing in 2004.

Barry has worked diligently to grow the practice, becoming an accredited mediator and focusing on personal injury and property damage claims. He represents Allianz in defence work and has developed a substantial plaintiff personal injury portfolio. Recently, Cullen & O’Beirne merged with the progressive firm Sherwin O’Riordan, enhancing client services.

Outside of work, Barry is passionate about rugby and enjoys morning walks with his dog and swimming. He played and captained teams at Greystones RFC and has coached various levels. Recently, he was elected President of Greystones RFC and serves as their disciplinary officer.
